About

Thanks for checking out the blog.
Write Shoot Cut is a platform that is dedicated to celebrating and showcasing independent and undiscovered filmmaking talent from across the world.
Covering everything from people starting out, short film, low/no budget features and beyond; the blog hosts text, podcast and video interviews with filmmakers, actors, writers and producers who are out there doing it; challenging themselves and the medium.
We also host short films on the that we believe are excellent in one way or another, as well as links to other stuff you should check out.
This is all done in a very conversational style, like chatting to someone down the pub, so you can really get to know those people involved.
In the real world we host Edinburgh’s only Monthly Short Film Screening and Networking night where we curate a programme of local and international shorts, host Q&As with filmmakers and create a place where people can meet in a relaxed social environment.
This will be expanding in August, with more details to follow.
Write Shoot Cut is affiliated and integrated with Screen Education Edinburgh, the capital’s hub for digital filmmaking, providing education opportunities and production services.
We are also affiliated and integrated with the Bootleg Film Festival, which we were delighted to bring to Edinburgh in March 2013 and hope to host again next year.
Thanks for reading and please feel free to get in touch through the contact page.
